Biblical Genealogy: Abraham's Ancestry

Abram (later Abraham) descended from the lineage of Shem, one of the three sons of Noah. God changed Abram's name to Abraham which means the Father of Many Nations.

Abram is the son of Terah and the grandson of Nahor. Terah had two other sons, Nahor and Haran. Haran is the father of Lot.

Abraham married Sarah and bore Isaac. Isaac married Rebecca, the granddaughter of Nahor, Abraham's brother.
