Biblical Genealogy: Noah's Ancestry
The story of Noah is told in the book of Genesis, the first book in the Bible. Noah is the 8th in the line of descendants from Seth, the 3rd son of Adam and Eve.
As shown in the genealogy chart, Noah is the son of Lamech, son of Methuselah, son of Enoch, son of Jared, son of Mahalalel, son of Kenan, son of Enos, son of Seth.
The Great Flood wiped out mankind except the family of Noah. Thus, mankind after the flood descended from Noah and his sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Noah was a farmer. He was the first man to plant a vineyard. He died at the age of 950.
